55th PPMA ANNIVERSARY GREETINGS

Guests, colleagues, and friends: good afternoon.

We are gathered here today to celebrate history.

Fifty-five years ago, our pioneers put up the pillars for a dynamic and ambitious organization they called the Philippine Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Association—an association that bound together many separate players in the industry into a single entity.

Fifty-five years ago, these same men set out on a truly difficult task of strengthening the industry by homogenizing and raising standards, while enhancing relations between and among its members.

Fifty-five years ago, this group laid down a vision of an association that would not only fortify its position in the pharmaceutical manufacturing field, but one that likewise reaches out a hand of compassion to the same communities they serve.

Today, we continue to hold the torch that our pioneers once held.

And through the years, we have indeed gone a long way. We have surpassed challenges, broken barriers and even crossed borders. Our list of achievements is long, as it is significant.

But while we have done much, we can still go further.

Our celebrations today not only reflect our pride in our history. Our celebrations today not only reflect our pride in our many achievements in the year that had just passed.

More importantly, today is a renewal of our commitment to the ideals and vision of the PPMA.

This year’s anniversary theme, Beyond the Golden Years, clearly embodies this same commitment — the promise to further build upon the foundations laid by our pioneers.

Together, we can continue to equal, if not surpass, our past achievements. Together, we can still attain much and contribute a lot to the upliftment of the lives of our people. Together, we can help build a better tomorrow for our children, and our children’s children.

Having said that, I thank each and everyone present here today, as well as our partners who failed to attend but are here with us in spirit, for being part of PPMA’s 55th anniversary celebrations.

As we toast to our past, let us also celebrate our commitment to unity, excellence, and progress.

Happy 55th anniversary to all of us! Let us enjoy the festivities and have a great evening.
